Titusville

Join the Florida Wildflower Foundation on Thursday, November 19, for a fall field trip to Dicerandra Scrub Sanctuary and Enchanted Forest Sanctuary in Titusville! We’ll begin at Dicerandra Scrub, where we hope to see Titusville balm (Dicerandra thinicola) in bloom. This rare, state-endangered wildflower is found only in Brevard County and is the namesake of the sanctuary. As we explore the preserve’s scrubby flatwoods and depression marsh, we’ll search for other wildflowers in bloom and learn more about these unique habitats.
We’ll be joined by staff from Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) Program, who will share insights into the natural communities these sanctuaries protect and the work involved in managing these important conservation lands. We’ll also visit Enchanted Forest Sanctuary, where a diverse mix of scrub, pine flatwoods and hammock habitats offers more opportunities to discover Florida’s native plants and seasonal wildflowers.
Come enjoy a morning of wildflower exploration and learn more about the conservation of some of the region’s special natural areas!
Registration is free for Florida Wildflower Foundation members and $10 for non-members. Email Rose Kinane to find out if your membership is current or needs to be renewed. To join as a member, visit www.FlaWildflowers.org/membership. Pre-registration is required.
