March 2 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Jordan Scrub Sanctuary, 2425 Marie St, Malabar, FL 32950

Join us Saturday, March 2 at 9am as we explore the Jordan Scrub Sanctuary in search of butterworts, grass-pink orchids and other early spring blooms.

We’ll be traversing a variety of habitats in this 354-acre sanctuary including scenic lakes, seasonal marshes and scrubby flatwoods. In addition to numerous native plant and wildflower species, the sanctuary is home to endemic Florida scrub jays, who are often spotted while hiking the property. The total walking distance for this trip will be around 3 miles.

Please bring plenty of water and wear comfortable clothing. The trail receives full sun exposure, so sun protection, hats and sunglasses are advised. Please be prepared to walk through 6-12 inches of water, as portions of the trail are prone to flooding. There are no restrooms at this site so plan accordingly.

Registration is free for Florida Wildflower Foundation members and $10 for nonmembers.
