Florida is home to a fascinating variety of aquatic plants, including “lily pads”, carnivorous plants and flashy flowering jewels. Join Nia Wellendorf for this tour of Florida’s most common aquatic plants.

Presenter:
Nia Wellendorf has worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for 25 years. She is an is an aquatic ecologist and conducts aquatic plant assessments of lakes as part of her job. She holds a BS in natural resources and an MS in aquatic ecology. Nia lives in Tallahassee and enjoys paddling Florida’s waterways with her family. She is an active member and current president of the Florida Native Plant Society Magnolia Chapter.
