SUMMARY:WEBINAR - Florida’s Native Bees
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Wednesday\, May 20 at 2pm for our webinar “Florida’s Native Bees” presented by University of Florida’s Dr. Rachel Mallinger. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis webinar will feature the best ways to support bees in your landscape\, including their favorite native wildflowers\, as well as an overview of Florida’s common bee groups and ID tips. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresenter: Dr. Rachel Mallinger\n\n\n\nDr. Mallinger is an associate professor in the Department of Entomology and Nematology at the University of Florida where she conducts research and extension on native wild bees and teaches courses on pollinator ecology and conservation. She received a B.A. in biology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan\, a joint Master’s in Entomology and Agroecology from the University of  Wisconsin-Madison and a PhD in Entomology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests include pollination biology of crop and wild plants\, community ecology of pollinators and landscape ecology. Outside of work\, she spends time (preferably outdoors) with her family\, and enjoys dancing\, good food and good books.   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nPoeys Furrow bee (Halictus poeyi) on Coreopsis leavenworthii by Emily Bell.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Rachel Mallinger\n\n\n\n\n\nThis webinar will be recorded and available on our website 48 hours after the event.
