July 22 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

Join the Florida Wildflower Foundation on Saturday, July 22 at 6:00pm for a guided hike at Cary State Forest in Nassau County.

This field trip is filling up quickly. Contact Rose Kinane at RKinane@FlaWildflowers.org to be put on the waiting list.

Foundation staff member Emily Bell will lead an evening walk along Cary’s powerline ROW, an interesting wildflower hotspot featuring Crested fringed orchids (Platanthera cristata), Catesby’s lily (Lilium catesbaei), Barbara’s buttons (Marshallia graminifolia) and more!

We will meet in the field on the corner of Pavilion and Fire Tower roads and caravan out to the powerline.

This hike is about 2 miles long and will take approximately 2 hours to complete. The terrain is flat, but wet muddy areas may be present depending on recent rainfall amounts. Summer heat will be in full swing so please bring plenty of water, a hat and sunscreen, or appropriate sun protective clothing.

Registration is free for Florida Wildflower Foundation members and $10 for nonmembers
